With Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) launching the first-ever direct flights between Copenhagen and Seoul in September 2025, exploring this fascinating destination has never been easier.

Copenhagen to Seoul

The new direct route between Copenhagen and Seoul will start from 12 September, 2025. It will operate four times weekly during the summer season and three times weekly in winter, using an Airbus A350 aircraft.

“This new route highlights our commitment to meeting customer demand and enhancing connectivity between two dynamic regions,” said SAS President and CEO, Anko van der Werff.

“Seoul, renowned as a global center of culture, innovation, and business, is a strategic addition to our growing network,” he added.

Whether you're a culture enthusiast, a business traveller, or simply curious about South Korea, this landmark route promises seamless connectivity and an exciting gateway to one of Asia’s most compelling destinations.

What to Expect in Seoul

Seoul, the pulsating heart of South Korea, offers a blend of history and modernity that will surely interest Scandinavian travellers.

The city’s skyline is a futuristic marvel of skyscrapers, including the iconic Lotte World Tower, standing in stark contrast to its tranquil historic sites like Gyeongbokgung Palace and the Bukchon Hanok Village.

Visitors can immerse themselves in Korea’s rich cultural heritage by exploring the vibrant streets of Insadong, teeming with traditional crafts and tea houses, or by savouring authentic Korean cuisine at bustling markets like Gwangjang. And let's not forget–brown cheese is popular in South Korea!

For those seeking modern thrills, Seoul delivers cutting-edge technology, dynamic K-pop performances, and premier shopping districts such as Myeongdong and Gangnam.

The city also boasts a reputation as a global innovation hub, particularly in green technology and digital industries, making it a fascinating destination for business travellers.

Long-Haul Strategy Becomes Clear

Since the shock move from Star Alliance to SkyTeam, frequent flyers have been waiting to see how this would impact SAS' long-haul plans.

Firstly, Copenhagen was confirmed as the hub for SAS' long-haul operation. This is a consolidation of what had been happening for a few years.

While it's sad we're unlikely to get new long-haul flights from Oslo, new connections into Copenhagen from across Norway are a help.

Then came the announcement of a new Copenhagen to Seattle route, starting next summer. Now with Seoul, we see the latest in a series of new announcements that bring exciting destinations to travellers in Scandinavia.

“As a proud SkyTeam member, this route further strengthens the seamless connectivity we provide, linking Scandinavia to key destinations across the globe. We are excited to welcome passengers on board this landmark service,” added van der Werff.
